Memberships
What a membership is, how to join one, and what to do if a membership is missing.
What is a membership on xquare?
A membership is something a business offers on its own space. It is not an xquare-wide subscription. Each business sets its own plans: whether a plan costs anything, how long it lasts, which of its spaces it covers and what benefits it includes. You do not need a membership to use xquare, and joining a space is free and separate from buying a membership.
Can I join a membership right now?
Yes, where a business has published one. Plans appear on that business's space page, usually on a Membership tab. Not every space layout shows memberships in the same place. Some plans are never shown on the page because only the business can give them (see below). If you cannot find a plan a business told you about, ask them for a direct link.
How do I join a membership?
Sign in, open the business's space page and choose a plan on the Membership tab. On a computer, if you are not yet in that space, you can also select Join space and pick a plan in the window that opens. For a free plan, select Join for free. It usually starts straight away and you see "You joined as" followed by the plan name. Some businesses approve each new member first: you still see "You joined as", but the membership is not active until they approve it. Once they approve it, the membership and its benefits appear in My Memberships. If it still does not appear after a while, contact the business. If a join does not go through, do not keep retrying. Contact the business, or email [email protected].
Can a business give me a membership?
Yes. Some plans are not open to join: only the business can give them. The business adds the membership to your xquare account using your email address, so you need an account with that email first. Once it is given, it appears in My Memberships; if it does not, contact the business. To get one of these plans, contact the business.
Do I pay for a membership, and how?
Only if the plan has a price. Plans can be free, and a free plan's card says Free. Any price is set by the business and shown in rupiah on the plan card. If you have a question about paying for a plan, contact the business. xquare charges no membership fee of its own.
I paid but my membership is missing — what do I do?
When you come back from the payment page, My Memberships checks for any paid membership still waiting and switches it on if the payment went through. If that check cannot finish, it runs again next time. Reload My Memberships once. If the membership is still missing, email [email protected] with the business's name, the date, the amount you paid and any order number.
Where do I see the memberships I have joined?
Sign in and open My Memberships, which is linked from your account page. Each membership card shows the spaces it covers and its benefits. If you have none, it says "No memberships yet". If you are signed out, you are sent to sign in and brought back.
What do I actually get with a membership?
Whatever the business attaches to the plan. xquare does not define a standard set of benefits. A plan can give you access to one or more of that business's spaces and can include benefits such as member discounts or member-only vouchers. The benefits are listed on the plan before you join and on your membership card afterwards.
How long does a membership last, and does it renew automatically?
It depends on the plan, and the plan card shows it before you join. "No time limit" means the plan has no end date. A length such as "1 year" means your membership runs that long from when you join. "Until" and a date means the plan ends on that date for every member. After you join, your membership card in My Memberships shows "Expires" and the date, or "No expiry". There is no automatic renewal and no renew button in the hub. To continue after a membership ends, contact the business.
My membership is not showing up any more — what happened?
My Memberships lists only memberships that are still valid. After a membership's end date it stays listed for a short grace period, then it is hidden rather than greyed out, so an ended membership simply disappears. Ones that have been suspended or removed are hidden too. If one membership covers several spaces, the earliest end date is the one shown. If yours vanished and you think it should still be running, contact the business, or email [email protected].
I tried to join and it said I already have this membership
If you see "You are already enrolled in" followed by the plan name, you already hold that plan and cannot hold it twice. Check My Memberships. If it is listed, you are already in. If it is not listed, the earlier join may still be waiting for payment or for the business to approve it. Email [email protected] rather than trying again.
Do I have to pay dues?
Dues amounts and how they are collected are set by each hub or organisation. If you've been asked to pay dues, or have a question about them, email [email protected] with the name of the hub or organisation.
