Connections and integrations

Connect xquare to the other tools your business uses: your online shop, your own systems, your ad accounts and, soon, your CRM and point of sale.

Beta means it works on xquare today, but it is new: few businesses have used it yet and details may change. Coming soon means it is being built and you cannot connect it yet.

Orders from your WooCommerce or Shopify store

Status: Beta

What it does. Your shop tells xquare when an order is created or updated. xquare checks that the message really came from your shop and records it, with its outcome, in your event log. Customer email addresses and phone numbers are never stored in the clear.

How to connect. In the vendor panel, open Connections and add a connection for WooCommerce, Shopify or another system. You get an endpoint URL and a signing secret; paste them into your shop's webhook settings. Step by step: Send orders from your store.

Caveat. Connections need a plan on the Business tier or above (see www.xquare.net/pricing), and the WooCommerce and Shopify steps have not yet been run end to end with a real store: check your event log after your first order.

Webhooks to your own systems

Status: Beta

What it does. xquare sends a signed message to your own server when something happens in your Space, for example a voucher is redeemed, a sponsor perk is claimed or a ticket is checked in. See the list of events.

How to connect. On the Connections page, add an endpoint (an HTTPS URL) and pick its events, then send a test event. Developers can also manage endpoints with the API (/v1/webhook-endpoints). Step by step: Receive and verify webhooks.

Caveat. xquare approves each new endpoint host before anything is sent to it; until then, deliveries are recorded as "host not approved". Contact support to approve yours.

XQUARE API

Status: Beta

What it does. Your point of sale, CRM or gate scanner can check and redeem vouchers, check in tickets and redeem sponsor perks directly, with an API key for your Space.

How to connect. Create a key in the vendor panel under API keys and give it to your developer. Everything else is in the developer section.

Caveat. Each plan needs a request limit before its keys can make calls. If yours has none yet, every call is refused as rate limited: contact support to have it set.

Status: Coming soon (for hubs and agencies that run ads; connecting is not open yet)

What it will do. When a sale comes from one of your Google ads, xquare will send it back to your own Google Ads account as a conversion, so Google can show which ads bring sales. Contact details will only be sent, hashed, when the customer agreed to it.

How to connect. Not yet. The Connect Google Ads button is already in Ads & Tracking in the vendor panel, but it cannot connect an account until xquare has finished setting up its Google app: until then, choosing it shows an error and nothing is connected. When it opens, you will sign in to Google, approve access and send a test conversion from the same page.

Caveat. It is for hubs and agencies that run ads.

Meta Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram)

Status: Beta

What it does. When a sale comes from one of your Facebook or Instagram ads, xquare sends the purchase to your own Meta pixel from its server, so Meta can measure it even when the browser blocks tracking. Contact details are only sent, hashed, when the customer agreed to it.

How to connect. In the vendor panel, open Ads & Tracking and choose Set up on the Meta Pixel destination. Enter your pixel ID and your Conversions API token (both are in Meta Events Manager), then save and send a test event to Meta from the same page.

The token is stored encrypted and is never shown again: the page only says Token set. To change it, choose Replace and paste the new one.

Caveat. It is for hubs and agencies that run ads.

HubSpot

Status: Coming soon

What it will do. When someone redeems one of your sponsor perks, the redemption will appear as an activity on the matching contact in your HubSpot account.

How to connect. Coming soon: a Connect HubSpot button in the vendor panel. Until then, a developer can send sponsor redemptions to any CRM with a webhook: Send sponsor redemptions to a CRM.

Caveat. What customer details may be sent to HubSpot is still being reviewed, and will be shown to you before you connect.

WordPress / WooCommerce plugin

Status: Coming soon

What it will do. An XQUARE plugin for WooCommerce will let your customers pay with XQUARE voucher codes at your checkout, and let you sell XQUARE vouchers in your WooCommerce cart.

How to connect. Coming soon: the plugin is not available to download yet. Your WooCommerce store can already send its orders to xquare: see Orders from your WooCommerce or Shopify store.

Caveat. The plugin has been tested only against a test store, not a live one.

Shopify app

Status: Coming soon

What it will do. An XQUARE app for Shopify will let you accept and sell XQUARE vouchers in your Shopify store, installed from Shopify.

How to connect. Coming soon. Your Shopify store can already send its orders to xquare: see Orders from your WooCommerce or Shopify store.

Caveat. The app must pass Shopify's own review before it can be listed.

MokaPOS

Status: Coming soon

What it will do. For food and drink businesses that use MokaPOS: xquare will read your MokaPOS sales so that vouchers redeemed at your till are matched to your xquare records.

How to connect. Coming soon.

Caveat. It will be part of a culinary plan; which tiers include it will be shown on the plan pages when it opens.
