Sandbox

v1 — expanding

The sandbox is not open yet. This page will describe it when it opens.

The sandbox will be a separate XQUARE environment at https://api-sandbox.xquare.net/v1. It will hold demo data only, never real customers, and it will accept test keys (xq_test_…) only.

Until it opens:

  • Live keys (xq_live_…) work only on https://api.xquare.net/v1, against your real Space. A test key sent to live gets 401 unauthorized.
  • Every POST needs an Idempotency-Key, so you can retry safely while you build. See Retries and idempotency.
  • POST /v1/vouchers/validate has no side effects. Use it to try your integration against real codes without redeeming them. See Redeem a voucher from a POS.
